So I know you said we'd get back to this later, but I guess I'd like to take a shot in the dark on it now. The larger cores are for higher performance, while the smaller cores are for low power operation. i.e. don't bring a tank to a knife fight.

are the smaller cores maybe for doing simple management for handling sending tasks to the larger cores? (for example like the task scheduler for a threadpool)

Is their any specific reason why they come in pairs? Why not 3 "big" cores and 1 "small core"?

Fun fact, the Tegra X1 on the right is actually found in the Nintendo Switch.
