How much data is fetched and decompressed each time? When it's too large, wouldn't it exceed the capacity of cahce/memory once decompressed? The decompressed data has to be stored somewhere.

I think the idea is that, in many cases, keep a local graph (i.e. partial) in cache will be enough.
